Michael, 8 yr old, who loves horses
came to visit with his 6 yr old brother and they rode Sonya, my
wonderful TWH mare, in the round pen. Then they went and learned how to
scoop out stalls and did an excellent job. They want to come back and see
us. Love having kids around here. Makes it all so worth while.

Brandy, 9 yr old, we sold
Challenge to her. He is a 23 yr old TWH our first horse purchase when we
got the farm. He takes her out on the trails with her family. She sure
loves the horses. They now have a new farm and are moving their horses.
Since my granddaughter lives so far away, Brandy has been a wonderful
addition to my life.

FINALLY, after several years of
emailing and phone talking, I got to meet Polly in person. She and John
came to ride at our place one day. It was so wonderful to get to meet her
in person. She is one of my favorite people in the whole world. And she
helps me so much and there is no way I could ever repay all her kindness.
She is a true gem. (and as you can tell by her helmet makes some wonderful
fashion statements)
The Foster kids-Kyle, Jake and
Brandy. They have helped to make our horses much better and less spooky.
Also the barn cats too. One barn sign says, "All unattended children
will be presented with a free kitten".
Lory and Kiana came down from St.
Louis to play with horses. Kiana loves horses and we love kids. Ended up
with mom riding too. Fun day and such nice people.
Rider's Prayer
Dearest Creator,
Give me strength to guide my horse.
Make my hands soft and my head clear;
Let my horse understand me and I him.
My heart you have blessed with a special love of these animals,
let me never lose sight of it.
My soul you have gifted with a deep need for them, let that need
never lessen.
Always let my breath catch as the sun gleams on an elegant head.
Always may my throat tighten at the sound of a gentle nicker.
Let the scent of fresh hay and a new bag of grain be sweet to me.
Let the warm touch of a warm nose on my hand always bring a smile.
I adore the joy of a warm day on the farm, the grace and splendour
of a running horse.
The thunder of its hooves makes my eyes burn and my heart soar,
let it always be so.
Dearest Creator grant me patience, for horses are harnessed wind
and wind can be flighty.
Let me not frighten or harm them, instead show me ways to
understand them.
Above all, dear Creator, fill my life with them.
When I pass from this world, send my soul to no Heaven without
them
For this love you have given me graces my existence.
